Frequently Asked Questions

What insurances do you accept?
At this time we only accept Original Medicare.

If you don’t accept my insurance, why do you still require the information?
While we don’t participate with any insurance other than Medicare as a form of payment, we still require this information on record so we are able to provide authorization services when needed for various medications or tests and procedures as deemed necessary by your insurance.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We happily accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Please note that credit transactions are subject to a small processing fee to allow for recovery of the fees charged to us for accepting these payment types. There is no fee to use cash or check.

Is the doctor open to prescribing “natural” thyroid medications like Armor® or Nature-throid®?
Dr. Levy-Kern is committed to her patient’s health and well-being. If a patient medically in need of thyroid medication would like to use these alternatives, the doctor is open to prescribing them.

Do you also do in-office procedures like sonograms and biopsies?
No. At this time we do not offer any in office procedures. However, we provide you a prescription to allow you to go to a facility of your choosing that accepts your insurance to have these procedures done. The only exception to this is that we DO have a phlebotomist available from an area lab who can draw blood for lab testing. This is only available in our Holmdel office, and the schedule varies so please call to confirm availability. All billing for this service is done by the lab, not our office, and they do accept most insurances.
